How to Prepare for Your First Meeting with Fred
I get this question all the time. So does Betsy. So I am embarrassed (so to speak), amazed and appalled that it never once occurred to me to put up a post about it. I’ll immediately put a link to this post on the Meetings page so that I can easily refer newcomers to it. It will also be accessible to the more intrepid ACN explorers, and of course it will get the word out to the current crew right now.
- There is nothing you can do to prepare. The one who would do the preparing is not the one who is going to wake up–or clear up, if your first session is a Clarity Session instead of an Awakening Session.
- If you notice that the unit is fit to be tied and is driven to do something, then have it read Beyond Recovery: Nonduality and the Twelve Steps, while remaining mindful that just like everybody else on this planet, you are addicted to both thought and the sense of separation. That book laid the foundation for The Living Method, and The Living Method sprang to life during the summer that book was being written. They are inextricably linked, while not sharing much in the way of common material.
- Come with as open a mind as you can muster. Yesterday I had a session with a guy who was, again, just like everybody else on the planet, operating from unquestioned assumptions and “truths.” At one point he casually mentioned something about a “George,” which is what he believed himself to be.
I immediately asked, “So, are you a George?”
“Yes,” he said.
I knew he knew better than that, so I asked, “Is that really true?”
“Yes.”
“Do you know that that is really true?”
“I know it 100%!”
I then asked, “I see. Do you want to continue to know that’s true? I ask that, because if you do want to continue to know that’s true, then we might as well end our session now, because there’s nothing I can do for you.”
That comment instantly opened his mind. He willingly surrendered to authentic investigation, and a very few minutes later he was able to see the utterly ridiculous nature of his previous declaration. And he woke up.

Ok I am just on a roll and followed the links………..to having a session, this is more impulsive than I am usually, I consider more about spending money and as I write that it is absolutely not true, so I am following something…..only just found your videos and am following the hunch to have a session with you, that goes by the name Fred…….now what happens..when I got to the pay button I got led to this so am writing this email, to the woman you spoke of Betsy, how wonderful. Just following some hunch, some flow whatever I want to call it,

I finished my first session with fred. Sad to say my former identity is gone without a trace. Not really sad at all. If you want to attain enlightenment, go somewhere else. If you are getting tired of dragging that old, clunky self around, this might just be the right place for you.

“We make shit up”; “believe it”, make a big reality that supports it with it hiding behind the screen as something “true” now; “we suffer from it”, we see how much suffering “truth” we want to go with that “free will” ride; “we take up spirituality to relieve us of our suffering”, and finally we accept the gift of/from (not)another of the Truth behind the truth. And then we try to give the Truth away.

Fred, I am interested in doing the awakening session with follow ups. Is there a chance to explain some of what I am struggling with currently and ask a few questions before committing to a session, via email perhaps? Not sure how this works. Thank you,
