In the Absence of Thought (A New Year’s Letter from the Field)
Paul & Debbie follow this teaching closely and live in The Netherlands
Dear Fred,
We know you are swamped, just let you know we much liked your new year’s eve talk today!
At 20 min, you perfectly described what happens when the mind stops: words disappear.
Most people would call it a black out, but actually it is a white out. The underlying awareness shows itself.
Debbie just last week completed a little series of 4 paintings that illustrate exactly this. You can watch it here.
You might like it. Please accept this as a token of our appreciation for your shining talks.
If you refresh the page, the order of paintings change, but the titles always form a short and important sentence.
Also, there is a little series called All is One about the mind of a child, just exploring the possibilities of life without thought.
There is a little description of Debbie’s experience while painting this as well. All of Debbie’s abstract works are made with an empty mind to start with. And just see what comes. We call it abstract Illusionism.
It is here: http://www. parkinsjordaans.nl/all_is_one. php
To conclude this email, you also talk about kids believing in Santa Claus. Please find as an attachment a Tale called “The Santa-Clausness of life” I wrote a few months ago. I took the parallel between believing in santa claus and believing in the ego as far as my realization would take me. Hope you like.
Have a great New Year, together with Betsy and the dog(s?) and stay healthy.
We love you,
Paul and Debbie Jordaans Parkins
