I love this humility and honesty.
It was written in response to an inquiry I made about this student’s present experience.

Fred,
Thanks for asking! The clearing process continues to unfold gradually. At this point, oneness comes to know itself as itself momentarily, here and there, everyday (with widely varying degrees of clarity). It’s very rare for the absolute to wake up to itself over here though. Most of the time, my experience is still that of a separate character navigating a world of others.
The latest shift (which I shouldn’t really call a shift) has been the clear recognition that the character can’t do anything to wake up because there is no character. Oneness just needs to notice that it’s not limited to the character, even though it might feel like it is. For most of post-awakening (a little over two years), the character has agonized over trying find permanent enlightenment. Now, oneness seems to just casually notice itself from time to time. As oneness has begun to notice itself more and more frequently, the agonizing search for peace has calmed and the character’s starry-eyed view of spirituality has waned as well. The oneness view just seems like a normal part of life because it is life itself. My experience has not been that of becoming more and more special, but less and less nuts.
Money and time have been out of my seeming control lately, but hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to attend satsang and chat one on one again soon. The character doesn’t like that it has to play grownup now that it has graduated college. Whatever! Suffering has proven itself to be the most effective teacher anyway (at least over here).
With love and gratitude,
Daniel

Reminds me of snowflakes falling. Instead of insisting on getting all the precipitation at once, we can enjoy the way heaven blankets earth. Gracefully and beautifully. Also, I’ve heard Fred refer to his experience with us as seeing snowflakes.

Thanks, Daniel. Actually becoming less and less nuts does make you more and more special, but I know what you mean.
