LETTER FROM THE FIELD: The Impact of “Beyond Recovery”
Hi Fred,
Our trip to Singapore has got delayed due to the haze in Singapore. Could we do Skype between 29th and 30th October or10th and 15th November, whichever works for you. I am reading and re-reading and listening. There are over a 100 pearls of wisdom in the book ” Beyond Recovery.” Even though I am not an ‘alcoholic recovery’ candidate, I think if you rewrite the book for non-alcoholics with just the pearls of wisdom it would be a great help to all of us. What I mean are statements like the following which would be great to elaborate on:
1. The concept of oneness is hardly a radical notion if it remains a concept.
2. Our insistence on being special is precisely what keeps us from it.
3. One of the ways we discover who we are is through discovering who we are not.
4. We cannot get life right unless we get reality right.
5. Our body does not understand the difference between imagination and actuality.
6. Eternity is not a lot of time but no time.
7. The feeling of being in control is a part of the play.
8. We do not choose our thoughts we only host them.
9. We are seduced to see form over formlessness.
10. ‘Should be’ is another word for what ‘is not’.
These profound truths are what is being totally overlooked by young parents. For example they are all bringing up children by emphasizing and over emphasizing on “how special you are”” until it is deeply embedded into them. A sure way to destroy them.

Ramesh
Ramesh and his wife came to see me last month–they both woke up. When they left I gave them a copy of Beyond Recovery. It’s nice to see it being appreciated for what it really is. Thanks, Ramesh!
