Nondual Science
Here’s a link Bobness out in L.A. sent in, and another that popped up rather spontaneously. Either or both might be worth your attention–who knows?
I don’t quote science to bolster relative views. I don’t quote scripture to bolster them either. And there are only relative views. I AM the only true view, the Viewless View, which is what can be known if you go far enough through the Gateless Gate. I have no need to quote anything or anybody, because all spiritual teachings are attempts to point to “I” that I AM.
“Be still and know that I Am God,” is about as close to truth as you’re going to get with a languaged concept. It seems a shame that language is not ultimately freeing.
It’s afternoon. We need to be quiet
for a while. Speaking would be
such an orchard to walk in,
if we could do it without alphabet and sounds.

However, the Fredness teacher character may refer to scripture, science, art, literature, ancient history, or anything else in its role of attempting to share this teaching. How ironic: a character is employed to spread the news of That about which it knows nothing. The teacher character can never know its subject, because a character and Conscious Awakeness are mutually exclusive. You can be one or the other, but you cannot be both at the same time.
This teaching appears “here” only in the presently recognized absence of a center, hence the Viewless View. And can only appear “over there” upon that very same recognition occurring through the student character. What I notice is that sometimes there is an apparent junction between science or scripture and truth. Such junctions, however ephemeral, offer intuitive possibilities, and I do not care about a pointer’s origin, only its effectiveness.
All that matter is if something works. That’s my only criteria for this teaching. If something works for you, use it. If it doesn’t, leave it. What you leave, someone else will wake up with, and what they leave, will wake up yet another. Different paths, pointers and practices will clear up different expressions of No-Thing. I’m trying to shift unconscious awakeness enough so that it can see that it is actually Conscious Awakeness with an identity issue. Sounds easy, but I notice it’s not.

Thanks Fred and Bob – interesting articles. I’ve been watching NDE video accounts lately. It’s fascinating how much they have in common with the experience of awakening. However, its still a relative experience. While the individual identity is greatly expanded (“I saw I wasn’t my body”), there remains a strong sense of a “me” moving toward the light (or sadly, sometimes into darkness). I did listen to one account where the woman completely merged with the light. Then she separated, and the light told her she had to go back. But she asked to merge again once more before returning, which request was granted.

Kathleen, I love your noticing that “it’s still a relative experience.” On the merging thing, that’s relative too. You can’t merge with what you already are. 🙂
