Note from the Field: Who Is the Seer?
A student sent me an email this morning that read:
Hey Fred,
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and I have been in inquiry about what you have said about conviction.
It seems like when I’m awake or awakish there is right view or a knowing the truth…really that does not quiet describe it…it just is…but then there is also a complete forgetting or forgettingish and that is the rub. Conviction seems active in some way and I somehow don’t even know I have forgotten.
How do I not forget that I know…how does conviction work there?
Thoughts? Or should I just ask in satsang?
Love and light – marlaish
I sent her this:
You forget what is seen when you forget who the seer is.
You are never awakish. You are always Awakeness.
Pursue this tomorrow in satsang.
To which she replied:
Made a do dad of your words to go on my desktop.

The mirror image of seeking, is keeping! And then we hop scotch over the present, between what we just had (keeping), and what we would finally get (seeking). It’s binary, but seems like a universe was made from those options!
