Thank you, Fred. This is one of the clearest posts I-as-you have ever written about our eternal nature. lol

If the word “to” in the following sentence were removed, it would be even clearer . . . clear as a bell . . . clear as the gong at the end of this post: “We know the truth. All of us know. Yet we steadfastly turn our heads away from it, and hold to onto any shred of hopeful denial.”

Wishing you, Betsy, and all of your four-legged family members a Thanksgiving filled with moment-to-moment gratitude.

    Irene

Thanks, Fred. Awesome post! I’ve been thinking lately that when I cling to the separate self, that I’m just having too much fun! It might feel like suffering and misery, but when the pressure really goes up, then I drop the separate self, and the wave of relief rolls in. And then I wonder, why didn’t I drop this before? Because, although my experience was really bad, it wasn’t quite bad enough to overcome the dream’s allure.

So now when I’m suffering, I can say, you’re actually having an okay time, or else you’d drop this game right now! And I realize I’m free to keep playing the game, or to quit while I’m behind (I’ll never be ahead).

    All love,

    Kathleen

Well, Fred, you continue to impress: you must have the largest graphic library of cool pix of anyone. The elephant, the knife in the log, and more. I mean, really? Where do you get this stuff? I love ’em all. Oh, sure, the post is superb in its message and clarity, but that’s your standard. But “a picture is worth a thousand words,” and you always seem to have the best ones.

I dream of a day when we stop telling stories to our kids and then leave them to get over the lies we raised them with. I mean all of them: all things religious, the stork, hairy palms and going blind, tooth fairy, the sovereignty of nations, and the biggest of all — the first one — “your name is , and you are individual, unique, special, and ….
