Report on the First Online Clarity Workshop & An Open Letter from a Participant
I hosted the first online Clarity Workshop today (Sunday, June 6) and to my mind it went about as well as such a thing can go. Any of you who attended who would like to share your experience, please drop me an email and I’ll post it. (As I write this I’ve just now received one from Bob Rusling which I’ll post below. Bob woke up with me a bit over a year ago.)
We experienced no technical difficulties at all for the second meeting in a row, which I am again pleased and surprised to be able to report. Zoom really is an amazing, and amazingly simple, technology. You can do it.
Over the course of the two-hour meeting I took a number of questions on important topics. However, the first question took about an hour for me to completely cover, because I went over it from stem to stern (plus my usual digressions), and I also did a lot of live, spontaneous, direct inquiry with one of the participants while encouraging everyone to take on this inquiry as if it was directed toward them.
It was a rich problem on something that virtually everyone in the room either has already experienced or will come to experience: oscillation. By that I mean the apparent movement into and out of our True Nature. That’s our experience of the thing, but it’s actually an impossibility. I got the idea to open the meeting with this, because I’d gotten an email a little earlier in the day from Lucy, who lives in England. Here’s what she said:
.
Dear Fred
Just to introduce myself briefly as I am in your Clarity session today. I have read your books and enjoyed your videos, delighted by the freshness of your approach. I’m afraid I am one of those Old Lags who have been in the Work for 40 years here in London, UK. Waking up has happened several times over the years, once dramatically, but somehow I seem to have misplaced it, and currently live in a gentle haze of knowing but not knowing. So I turn to you, dear Fred, and hope that your Clarity session can deliver a kick up the butt.
Yours Lucy
.
I used inquiry designed to help Oneness-wearing-the-Lucy-suit tell Itself the truth about the truth. I very quickly had her reeling with confusion, which is always a good thing. If you’re not confused, it probably ain’t workin’! I used that intellectual understanding thing that everyone thinks so little of to set her up to go beyond it. Intellectual understanding is a wonderful tool in the right person’s hands; don’t underrate it.
By relentlessly bringing Lucy’s attention back and back and back again to truth while pummeling her with questions–BAM! Awakeness woke up to Itself and noticed it had a really cool camera that everyone was calling “Lucy.” Let me be clear: LUCY did NOT wake up. That unit did not have the capacity to wake up any more than mine did years ago or yours does today. But the Lucy unit sure was smiling! It was wonderful to be able to welcome her Home with an appreciative audience looking on.
To someone outside of our virtual room peering in, it would have looked for all the world like I had woken Lucy up. But I can promise you that that’s not what the Lucy unit would report. She would tell you that she, Conscious Awakeness, woke up to her True Nature. She’d tell you that because that’s what happened. Every unit is an empty unit. What’s of genuine value is the animating presence within every unit, and THAT is what woke up. Still, the PayPal came via the Lucy camera’s email address, so I’m glad it got what it needed.
Another participant, my friend Jane whom I’ve written about before, came into fresh, pure clarity simply from being in the virtual room with her teacher. It’s happened with us before. That, my friends, is true direct transmission. Unless my eyes and instincts deceived me, Jane was not the only one who had that experience. I heard about this on Friday from a client in Iowa, and I heard about it yesterday from a client in Spain. I’m hearing it more and more.
This is the value of spending time with an awakened being with whom you resonate on a deep level. I hear about this all the time, and I’m thinking that may be the topic of my next post. We’ll see; I don’t pick them, they pick me.
So, if direct transmission can happen from simply being near to someone, how come we can go to satsang with our favorite teachers for years and years and yet never wake up? What I’m going to suggest is something some of you will not like. Still, it’s the truth, so I’ll say it anyway.
If you really, passionately want to wake up and you’ve not done so after spending a lot of time with a teacher, go find another teacher. There is no room for blind loyalty in the wake-up game. Be true to yourself. Go find your teacher. It’s really easy to spot who your real teacher is. He or she will wake you up.
The other thing to remember is that all three of the people who reported an experience of direct transmission had previously woken up with me. We had already established resonance. And because I know what works on people who have the ears to hear me, I can frequently say a few things that will bring Conscious Awakeness out of its nap and back to the surface.
There will be another Clarity Workshop at the end of this month, on Sunday, June 28 and there are still seats available. This is not satsang, folks–this is heavy hitting. Anyone is welcome to come, but if you’ve not yet had an awakening experience, please just listen. You’ll get your money’s worth, but I simply don’t bother trying to teach people how to have an initial awakening when I show people how to do it several times a week.
Talking about enlightenment rarely works. You already know that. But showing you that you’re already awake via The Living Method of Spiritual Awakening very rarely fails. You can sign up for the June 28 Clarity Workshop from the Events page. You can find a button for the Events page on the top of this site’s homepage. Here’s what Bob Rusling had to say about today’s workshop. (Thanks, Bob!)
Fred,
I just wanted to thank you for putting on this event. Thinking about the intensely dialogic nature of the individual awakening / clarity sessions I had had with you last year, I have to say that I went into the session a little doubtful as to how much additional clarity would really be generated in this unit, given that your attention would be spread among a number of participants. However, after you gave your advice about each participant on the “side-lines” taking the questions / pointers from your conversation with the currently ‘active’ participant and applying them to his or her own experience, I was pleasantly surprised as to how well this worked (no doubt because all of us tend to have very similar types of confusions)! All in all, an excellent value for $50.00!
In addition to the run-of-the-mill ‘manifestation’ stuff, I see a lot of “non-dual” teaching on the web that seems to suggest that, after one’s old egoic motivations start to “fall away” upon awakening, one should just wait passively for the new, enlightened motivation to “show up” and tell you what you should be doing with your life going forward, before actually doing anything. (I think people who take this advice too literally might find themselves waiting a very long time, indeed.) In this regard, I also wanted to comment on your advice to the woman who, post-awakening, was enjoying the simple pleasures of life, like watching the birds on the lawn, while finding a lack of interest/motivation in activities she had previously engaged in to “pay-the-bills”. I thought that your advice about making herself available to respond to the current call of her life by (in her case, as a professional writer) actually sitting down to write something, was very sensible. I hope that you will soon make a full YouTube video, or a blog post, about this “Bhagavad Gita” type approach to awakened action, as I think it will be very helpful to many of us who may find ourselves in this sort of “what do I do now” space.
Again, thanks!

I haven’t yet announced a date for a July Awakening Workshop, because frankly I’m not sure I’m going to do another one. They are an efficient way for me to meet with a group and wake up more than one person at a time, but that last one was a serious energy drain for me. Perhaps the first one will turn out to have been the hardest. I hope so. I’ll update you after the June 21 Awakening Workshop. I had a reschedule with one of the paid attendees for that session, which leaves one seat open. If you want to take that seat, send me an email before you send any money to make sure the opening is still available. I’ll post a sold out notice here once it’s filled. SOLD OUT
Whew. Quite a day. I’m heading to bed. Night all.
Love,
Fredness

“Man is literally split in two:
he has an awareness of his own splendid uniqueness in that he sticks out of nature with a towering majesty,
and yet he goes back into the ground a few feet in order blindly and dumbly to rot and disappear forever.”

Hi Fred,
Thanks kindly for the session. Peaceful Presence-ing continues . . . with writing going on. There is also a clearer understanding of the value of my coaching work within the greater context of non-duality.
I second Bob Rusling’s request for a blog post/Youtube video about the Bhagavad Gita approach to awakened action.

Thank you, Fred. Just to clarify, I help my clients identify and clear emotional patterns that result in suffering . . . which can include trauma. xox
