Russell Brand: When Comedy Collides with Reality
I have a couple of local people who come see me once a month for a not-satsang. We don’t know what it is; we just talk. Yesterday one of them brought up this comedian/writer/YouTube personality named Russell Brand. I know a bunch of you already know about him, particularly the younger set. I am A) Oldish and B) Totally out of the loop on pop culture. Anything I know is pretty much known through Betsy, my far better and more attractive half.
So, although I’m late to the party for a lot of you, for those of you who don’t know about him, this guy is worth taking a look at. Here’s a link to a good introductory video, and another to an interview. I’m not blessing what he says, and I’m not not blessing what he says. I’m just pointing him out. My chief interest here is seeing nondual ideas being introduced in non-conventional, broad-audience ways. Well.

Wow, what a very complex, articulate and wise person! I knew very little about him, but had a slight bias against him, thinking that perhaps he wasn’t the best husband to Katy Perry, whom I like. I’m glad to have had my view broadened.
