The Land of Rarg and the Nature of Dreams
A friend of mine told me about this short film today, and I knew I had to see it. I loved it. That’s all I’m telling you. The animation is lovely, if you like that sort of thing, as I do. If you’ve got a spare 20 minutes, click the link and give it a go.

Thanks, Fred. I recall seeing this when it came out (1989). It rang true for me then, but so much more now.
But then, as now, I found the ending unsatisfactory. Edwin will eventually awaken due to natural causes, and then all the dream characters will see that this is the best possible outcome–to discover that they are Edwin! And Edwin is already awake to his true self–the creator of “Rarg,” Tony Collingwood. Tony may already be awake, or he will eventually awaken. Who knows how many more layers there will be to traverse, but eventually all the citizens of Rarg will merge with the One, taking all of us along with them.
And considering that the film is 18 years old, this may have already happened!
