Letter from the Field: Persistent Particular Problems
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the “big picture” of our spiritual journey that we overlook living what we already know in the relative “little picture” of our day to day lives. So let’s back up a little bit. Putting the ultimate reality of relativity aside for a moment, we can notice that we certainly experience relativity. It looks real. It feels real. A good story may not ultimately have any more value than a bad one, but having experienced the extremes of both, I can’t help but notice that I prefer a good one.
I’ve also noticed that I’m not alone in that preference. Most of us are attracted to spirituality to begin with because it offers an end to suffering. Certainly that was my case. Applied spirituality is what moves us from the experience of hunting or knowing the truth to the experience of actually being Truth in action.
A couple of days ago I had a clarity session with a woman in Belgium who is clearly awake, and living most of her life from or as Awakeness. However, as is the case for many of us, there was a Persistent Particular Problem–what I’m here deeming a PPP–that kept rearing its head. This had been going on for a number of years, and there seemed to be no way to resolve it. So I helped her dissolve it instead.
I didn’t teach Janet a thing. What I did was help her to tell herself the truth. This is really my job in every session of any type, and if I have a receptive client, a lot of progress can be made in a very short period of time.
Janet was open and willing to see this situation as it really is, and allowed me to help her move from trying to fix this issue from the viewpoint of a human being to allowing it to be transformed from the viewpoint of her True Nature. When we change where we’re seeing from, then what we’re seeing changes. I got this note yesterday, and asked her permission to print it.
Hi Fred, I didn’t really know why i wanted to meet with you, until i did! Sure, I was drawn to your contageous laugh, and your way of getting the message across through your words. Now I know, the key word in our conversation was ‘gender’. A word that i have come across many times. I realise , without a doubt, the way forward with my son is to come from conscious awareness, my true nature and not from my mother, janet unit with all its BOP’S!

Hey Fred,
Thanks for the reminder that these PPP’s can be approached from another angle. Practical problems don’t necessarily need practical, relative solutions. I love being reminded that when we change how we view things, what we view changes. It’s hard to believe until you experience it, and then it’s like magic!
I hope your Christmas was joyful, and I look forward to seeing you next week.

Hey, Kathleen! It’s an honor and a pleasure to be your teacher. I’m very proud of the work you’ve put in in 2014. It’s a WHOLE LOT of headway in not a lot of time. 🙂
Love,
Fred
