Thoughts from Satsang: Reflections on the Character
Dear Fred,
Thank you for the chat today.
Of course, in the larger picture, all questions become irrelevant when there is no one to ask them…so it is very hard for a question to pop up without being negated almost immediately.
But awareness does seem to appear…in a point of time and space…to an experiencer…but upon deep focus, that awareness is like a wormhole that becomes all that is and nothing at the same time…and then sometimes gets consumed fully – before, beneath and behind all concept…
But when an I appears, forgetful of the awareness of that dizzying deep focus…there appear to be gifts to an individual character…
The gift that the relative I received today…is that awareness needs to become more alert to itself. There has been laziness here as to alertness. There has been acceptance without too much focus on where is it that consciousness is looking from…
You ask the question…”Where are you looking from?” There is hope that this character will imbibe in that mantra with more intensity, awareness, alertness, focus…it makes the I dizzy…
And now the phone just rang and this character will move within its game…never not that…but sometimes… a sense of separation will appear to cloak what is…
With sincere thanks,
Keiren

Thanks Keiren, great reinforcement for me. I really like the “gifts to an i(ndividual)”. It’s like the Christian “I of myself do nothing” and A Course in Miracles “I need do nothing” and of course Fred’s inquiry “Who/where is ____ anyway”
Also brilliant for me the concept of acceptance being for the Truth of Being, and not for trying to accept what I’m looking AT ! That just makes acceptance hard, and well, maybe false! Your “laziness here as to alertnes” reminds me of Fred’s “I’m just lying to myself if I’m devoted to the questions (“what do I do next”, “why do i feel depression”, and the grand daddy “why am i not getting all this better!”).
And your wormhole goes perfect with another great idea i read last night: that “whirlpools of energy (in the river of time/space)” are a better representation of what we are than the now-outdated (and false) stuck-inside-a-body premise.
Thanks for the great Christmas gift to this dream of yours “here” – Mike!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the perfect comments!
Yes agree, acceptance of what is, is not enough. Some might call this surrender. Most important is the viewpoint from where acceptance happens from. There might be a slight victim rearing her/his head…’just accepting’…’surrendering to…’
When ‘What is’ is aware of ‘what is’ that is the ultimate acceptance. And a helpful practice here has been to move the character aside and allow that focus/alertness/awareness ‘from consciousness’ to happen. Focusing on That and allowing it to be aware of itself… Not always an easy task, but gets easier with lots and lots of practice!
Best to you!
