The Top Ten Things to Tell Yourself if You Want to Stay Asleep
#10 – Tell yourself there’s nothing to do, and no one to do it, and then follow that bullshit strategy, while waiting for grace to hurry up and handle this thing for you.
#9 – Tell yourself you’re making a lot of progress, and don’t notice that you’ve told yourself the same thing ever since you started.
#8 – Tell yourself you’re the special exception.
#7 – Tell yourself you have plenty of time.
#6- Tell yourself it doesn’t matter anyway.
#5- Tell yourself that you’re really serious, but you want to just do this one other thing before you make awakening a real priority.
#4- Tell yourself that awakening is “right around the corner”, and don’t notice that you never, ever make it to the corner.
#3- Tell yourself that with all these great pointers you’ve collected, there’s no way you can miss it.
#2- Tell yourself that other people aren’t waking up.
#1- Tell yourself you don’t need help.

Yeah, all this, and “I’m ready and waiting, God, for my special tasks” while stubbornly refusing to see that all my “tasks” are RFH*, RFN*, RIFFOM*, EFD*! Not very sexy work, this day-to-day business. Not so-called “spiritual,” or whatever. Give my mother a shower? Not as cool as going to India for six months, but here I am, not there.
[*Right Here, Right Now, Right in Front of Me, Every Day. Did I hit that F key too much? Must be a typo.]

Hi, George. You couldn’t to go to India anyway: you are That Which Does Not Move. Slow down. Be of service with your mind, not just your body. Best wishes.
